In-person Testimony - Typically delivered in-person or via Zoom at a board or city council meeting. The following steps are key to a successful in-person testimony

  • Identify the Meeting Schedule:

  • Sign Up to Speak: 

  • Prepare Your Comments

  • Research

  • Practice Your Delivery: Ensure your comments are clear and concise.

  • Stay Calm and Focused: Deliver your comments clearly and respectfully.

  • Working Together: If testifying as a neighborhood organization, coordinate presentation with key members so that each person speaks to a specific section


​Written Testimony- Written testimony can be submitted as an individual or as an organization to be entered into the public record on a given issue

  • Research: Research and find written submission guidelines.

  • Organize: Structure your comment with an introduction, summary of position, supporting arguments, and conclusion..

  • Prepare: Proofread and revise your comment with organization members

  • Submit: Submit the comment by the deadline
