About the Event
WB 1002 Elected Officers Orientation
This course is recommended for all elected secretaries and treasurers and optional for all other elected officers (not chair and vice-chair). The course will provide an overview of the relationship between the City of Atlanta and the individual NPU. Participants will review the documentation required to formalize the NPU’s official recommendation to the City of Atlanta. New and returning officers will be taught best practices for ensuring optimal transparency including accurate record-keeping and accounting, preparing official minutes, capturing attendance, preparing official communications, and effective reporting. Attendees will also get a brief overview of the code of ethics, open records, and open meetings.
Before the class, we recommend you download the Zoom app on your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or computer. We encourage you to join the class 10 minutes before the start time to give yourself (and technology) a little wiggle room. Participants must have a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer in order to view the presentation and presenters.
If you will not be able to attend the class, please let us know immediately so we can admit someone from the waiting list. Per the NPU University policy, students who register for a class and do not attend or withdraw will be unable to register for classes for 60 days. After the second occurrence, you will be unable to register for classes for the remainder of 2021.
