About the Event

Would you like to know more about the rights, privileges, and obligations you may have as a member of your NPU or neighborhood organization? If you didn’t know that the chief decision-makers in an organization are its members, this class is for you. Many community meeting participants don’t realize that as members, they have the ability to participate in decision-making for the organization using parliamentary procedure. Any member can use parliamentary procedure when other members, guests, presenters, or officers violate bylaws or are otherwise out of order.

This virtual class is free to the public and designed to empower NPU and community members and teach them how to use parliamentary procedures to participate in the civic process.

This online class is taught by a registered parliamentarian. The course will benefit:

  • NPU members
  • Members of neighborhood associations, committees, or other community organizations
  • Those who want to learn the essentials of their membership rights and making motions and roles of members
